Happy Halloween Everyone

First and foremost I hope everyone has an enjoyable halloween and is safe.
Now for some reflecting.
I am happy to be back in Missouri. I guess Missouri is where I was meant to live afterall. Texas doesn't hold for me what it once did. As a matter of fact, its just another place on the planet. I guess the old saying "home is where your heart is" stands with some truth to it. Do I regret that move? No not really. Some very good things came out of the move and living down in South Texas. For one an appreciation for the cooler weather and the fact that in Missouri you have a noticeable season change. In South Texas you don't really have a season change that is that noticeable. I will admit that having one winter that was mild and I could ride more was nice but you know I have discovered that I miss the white stuff falling out of the sky and the look of purity that it gives the earth it covers. I have also discovered that I do not much like Cedar trees. They aren't my idea of a real tree, they aren't pretty, you can't burn the wood because it burns to hot and will catch your house on fire, and no I didn't learn this from experience, and there is very little green grass, REAL GRASS that grows in South Texas especially since it is so drought stricken. There were other perks about leaving Missouri for a year. I was able to filter out some bad things and I will continue to keep the bad things filtered out of my life and the lives of my family. I gained an appreciation for a lot of things that were otherwise taken for granted I think. There were some valuable lessons learned by myself and others along the way. I gained a deeper appreciation for what "HOME" really is and what "Friends"  and "Family" really are. I discovered how much can change in a years time, how much my grand-daughter had grown, how much my daughter had changed and how much I truely missed. I am glad I won't miss it anymore. I gained an appreciation for stability and responsibility and the ones that I loved and that loved me. There is no place like home thats for sure. During my time away I was fortunate enough to meet some really nice people in the horse world that will always be good friends as well. I was able to connect with a lot of school mates that I had lost contact with for many years. Old friendships rekindled. So as I said before there were some really great things that came out of me living in Texas for a year.
Well thats about it for now anyway. I hope everyone has a great Halloween and had a lot of fun. Watch out for the little ghosts and goblins and everyone be safe. Thanksgiving and Christmas are right around the corner and hopefully I will have everything set up by the time Christmas gets here so I can do my Christmas and end of year blog.
Have a Boo Good Time Tonight!
