Merry Christmas

Today I am going to wish Merry Christmas to all my friends because starting today I am going to start cooking for Christmas Day. Yes it takes 3 days with everything I am doing. So this will probably be my last blog till after the holiday. I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and thinks about the reason for the season.
This Christmas I am very blessed to be home in Missouri with my family and friends. I don't even mind the cold (to much). Its nice to be able to walk out the door to love on the horses or look out the window to see them enjoying their round bales and playing in the pasture.
I am so very blessed that now I can see my daughter and my grand-daughter any time I want to, I can get those sweet hugs from my grand-daughter when she runs from their car to throw her arms around me and tell me she loves me. Its great to be home.
I am blessed that I have a man in my life that will unexpectedly come into the kitchen and put his arms around me and kiss me on the cheek, that will endure the grocery store right along with me and help me gather the stuff we need.

The cooking begins today. I am going to make some homemade chocolate chip cookies, homemade fudge (this is the season standard) along with the usuals of stuffing, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, broccoli and rice, homemade cranberry sauce (which is my fav), dinner rolls and whatever else comes along. Fred is deep frying our turkey (YAY) there is nothing better. I can't wait. So much to do. Might even make deviled eggs because Fred loves them like no other. Christmas morning will consist of Biscuits and Gravy, which he also loves. I need to get the stereo hooked up so that we can have Christmas music during the day.

A few updates: Teaka's puppy (Sadie) is doing wonderfully. She looks to be silver and black. Her little face is all black and she has a stripe down her back but her under coat seems to be silver. This, of course, is subject to change. But she is a butterball and doing great. Teaka has been an outstanding mother. She is spending more time away from Sadie now, curled up in my lap as she always does. When she knows its time to feed Sadie she goes back to the bedroom and gets in the bed with Sadie and does her motherly duties.

If Christmas Day is half way decent weather wise I might saddle up and go for a Christmas ride with Trick.

I found out yesterday that my filly , Whisper, might be put on a transport in January to come home. I can't wait and I hope it will happen in January as well. She will go in the barn with a blanket and then come spring we can resume our training. She had come a long way before I left Texas and was almost ready for her first ride. I can't wait for her to be home.

Well everyone, Merry Christmas. Feast and enjoy family and friends.
